About Project Heal of Santa Barbara County
Empowering Communities Through Compassion, Connection, and Care.

Project Heal of Santa Barbara County (PHOSBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, culturally responsive healthcare navigation and wellness support. Since 2014, we’ve been a trusted community partner, collaborating with agencies, colleges, universities, NGOs, and local governments.

We specialize in supporting people who face barriers to care — including uninsured individuals, experiencing homelessness, living with chronic illness, or navigating mental health challenges.

Through a holistic, collaborative approach, we strengthen community well-being by addressing the social and environmental factors that influence health, such as housing, food access, emotional support, and preventive care. For over a decade, we’ve built trust with underserved groups by offering tailored support in healthcare navigation, lifestyle changes, mental wellness projects, housing resources, social service connections, and health education.

Our Advisory Board members actively contribute to countywide health initiatives and planning efforts, lending expertise to collaborative committees and community partnerships. These roles ensure that PHOSBC brings a trusted, service-oriented voice to broader conversations on public health and wellness.

Eligibility is based on need and circumstance, not on race, ethnicity, or other protected categories.

💡 Why It Matters

We understand that wellness doesn’t start in a clinic—it starts in the community. That’s why we’re dedicated to transforming lives with practical, people-centered support grounded in equity, respect, and whole-person care.
