About Project Heal of Santa Barbara County

Empowering Communities Through Compassion, Connection, and Care

Project Heal of Santa Barbara County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, culturally relevant healthcare navigation and wellness support. Since 2014, we've been a trusted community partner with various agencies, Colleges, Universities nationwide, NGO’s, as well as City and County partnerships.
We specialize in serving people impacted by systemic barriers—including those who are uninsured, unhoused, living with chronic illness, or managing mental health challenges and need extra support.

Through our holistic peer-to-peer approach, we support our community’s well-being by focusing on the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) that influence everything from housing and food access to emotional support and preventative care. For over a decade, we’ve built trust with underserved communities by offering culturally responsive support in healthcare navigation, lifestyle changes, mental wellness projects, housing connection access, social service assistance, and health literacy education.

PHOSBC Board members have been active participants in numerous SB County Action Plan Committees, CFMAT Members, Be-Well/Public Health Policy planning sub-committees, SBCC/UCSB/CSUN Community Sponsors, and active NAACP SB/-Lompoc Santa Maria Members since 2018.
