Project Heal of SBC a 501(c)(3) organization was created in 2014 to help spread awareness on how the power of Integrative Medicine, the Arts and Holistic Nursing practices can come together holistically to help assist individuals to the path of healing the mind, body and soul through strategic community outreach events.
As a grassroots organization we aspire to empower those suffering with mental health conditions, disabilities, and loneliness as well as those desiring to enhance their already healthy lifestyles. Our projects are the first in the area to offer any of theses services and the ideas are catching on with other practitioners and organizations!
We also aspire to help tear down stigmas, attitudes and social bias, towards those suffering in silence with mental health conditions which in turn prohibits them to seek professional help or advice in a timely fashion.
Project Heal of Santa Barbara County (PHOSBC) a 501 (C) 3 strives to promote & foster mental health wellness and empower those affected with mental health conditions thus improving their quality of life. We strive to eradicate the social stigma associated with mental illness via informed and strategic community health outreach events through the usage of Expressive Arts & Dance Movement Therapy, Expressive Photography, The Arts & ongoing Health Literacy campaigns.
The project currently serves the community with outreach events with emphasis on:
better self-care management, health literacy & mental health prevention campaigns these includes;
Dance. Speaks. Project.℠ (A Dance Movement Therapy)

Our Why: We exist to help individuals get out of their own head space by helping others, to tear down stigmas and attitudes towards those suffering in silence and to promote and enhance our own self-care management.
Our Values: Connect. Empathy. Relationships. Trust. Transform.

Our Belief: “Be yourself, everyone else is taken” Oscar Wilde
We believe that strategic creative outlets empower the client to better self acceptance, self-awareness and self-love using evidence-based approaches set forth by the ADTA.org and using Holistic Nursing approaches in
Mental Health . We aspire to heal, empower, and motivate our clients from the inside out.
Our History: Project H.E.A.L. of Santa Barbara County (PHOSBC) was renamed in 2016 from the former (DNPRN) the already existing Doctors Nurses & Patients Referral Network Corp a health & wellness referral and resource platform founded in 2010 in the Bay area.
A “needs assessment” in the community was conducted by the non-profit in the Santa Barbara County in 2015 to establish a need for an "Integrative Holistic Nursing" approach in our mental health population using Expressive Arts Intergrative Medicine and Dance Arts therapy philosophy. It was then determined by (DNPRN) that SB County could benefit from an alternate holistic approach to psychotherapy for some clients who would not normally seek therapy or as an addition to those who are receiving psychotherapy.
Using this approach for those who suffer from mental health disabilities, survivors of post traumatic events or other disabilities, that they could benefit from a creative holistic process/programs that address the whole person using medicine and the arts. It was then in 2016 (DNPRN) revised its mission and its name to “Project HEAL of Santa Barbara County or Project Heal of SBC” to better serve its community.
Our Vision: To spread awareness of the “power of healing” through the use of Integrative Medicine, (e.g)
Holistic Nursing, Dance Movement and Expressive Arts therapy philosophies; that can create a positive yet effectual change in our communities here and everywhere.
